While our nation celebrated its 53rd birthday, we took time off to hike up to Youth Park # 3 station at 7.30am in the morning. Weather was good and Bro Tan “flagged” us off with a word of prayer. There were 27 of us, young and not so young ones, all energetic and excited to start the day with some form of exercise.

Bro Kim Aun led the way with Fernando (our 7-year old active hiker) tagging on and keeping up with the pace, putting the rest of us to shame. Everyone hiked up comfortably and managed to reach station # 3 safe and sound. Well, the more energetic ones could not stop there so they continued up to station # 5 while the rest of us were happy to wait for them at Station # 3 and chit chat with one another.
The hike down was of course much easier and faster. Nevertheless the more cautious ones took a little longer but still, it was a great achievement for many of those who were first timers. You could see the satisfaction on everyone’s face as they reached the finishing point!
And surprise surprise, we had a birthday cake for Bro Tan, Mrs Tan and Bro Kim Aun whose birthdays fall on Aug 30th & 31st! It was a “sweet reward” for our sweaty activity and to make it even better, we had egg sandwiches for everyone. What else can we ask for?
Thank God for the perfect weather, great fellowship and wonderful outing. More to come!
