My Word will not return to me until it accomplishes what I intended.

Isaiah 55:10-11 New International Version (NIV)

10 As the rain and the snow
    come down from heaven,
and do not return to it
    without watering the earth
and making it bud and flourish,
    so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater,
11 so is my word that goes out from my mouth:
    It will not return to me empty,
but will accomplish what I desire
    and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.

In today's promise, God says that His Word is poured out onto the earth just like the rain and snow fall in their appointed seasons. God's intent is to water every manner of seed so that it will blossom to its full potential. His Word is like that for us. We can drink in everything that He says and eat every word that He speaks. Jesus told us... 'Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.'

It is my prayer today that we would all be aware of how God is speaking to us right now. I believe we can tune our hearts to the voice of God in a similar way that we would adjust the frequency of our radio to tune into our favorite radio station. If we aren't tuned into our Father's frequency, we might miss out on what He is saying. As Jesus said to the churches in Revelation 2 and 3... "To him who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit is saying".

In the midst of the hustle and bustle of our lives today, may each one of us quiet our hearts for a moment and listen to hear what God wants to say to us. Be comforted in knowing that every word that our Father speaks will not return to Him empty, but will accomplish what it sets out to do!
